Present Simple

habits, routine, facts, instructions, etc.
with adverbs like: usually/sometimes/ often/rarely/etc.
Active : She cleans the room three times a week

Passive : This room is cleaned three times a week.
Past Simple
Form is the same with ALL pronouns.
Regular form:
infinitive +ed
work worked Irregular form: go went
no fixed rule
(see extra sheet given)
action started and finished.
with adverbs like:
yesterday, last week,
two days ago. etc. used in reported speech.
Active : They cancelled all flights because of log

Passive : All flights were cancelled because of log.
Present Continuous
I am                     V+ing she, he, it is         V+ing we, you, they are V+ing
actions happening now,
at the moment of speaking. temporary situations, plans and arrangements
Active : I am not taking the driving course

Passive : A driving course is not being taken
Past Continuous
I, he, she, it was      V+ing we, you, they were  V+ing
actions happening in the past. action that was
happening when another action
happened. actions happening at the same time.
Active : They were attending the meeting yesterday

Passive : The meeting was being attended by them
Present Perfect
I, we, you, they have + past participle she, he, it
has + past participle
actions that
happened at some time in our lives
(indefinite past) for unfinished past (for/since). for repeated actions.
with adverbs like: ever, never, already, yet, just. etc.


Active : My sister has started a new job this week

Passive : A new job has been started by my sister this week
Present Perfect Continous
I, you have + been + verb-ing + object

We, he, she have + been + verb-ing + object

They, it + have + been + verb-ing + object +  adverb


used to express to say something or an action that happening in the past and continue until now, or in the future.
Active : She has been listening the radio since 5 hours ago

Past Perfect
Any pronoun had + past participle

to talk about a time earlier than
another past time. used in reported speech.
Active : He had helped you so many times

Passive : You had been helped so many times
Past Perfect Continous
I, we, they, you had + been + verb-ing

He, she, it had + been + verb-ing + object/adjective


used to express an action in the past
Active : Baraind had been learning English since 2010

Passive : English had been being learned by Bara since 2010
Future Simple
Any pronoun

to talk about a
prediction/possibility. decision made at the moment of speaking
Active : I will not phone him

Passive : He will not be phoned
Future Continous
I, we, he, she will/shall + be + verb-ing

It, they, you will/shall + be + verb-ing + object/adverb


used to expressed an action that will be in progress at time in the future. Usually use : at this time, tomorrow, etc.
Active : Luna and Theo will be loving to read book

Passive : To read book will be being loved by Luna and Theo
Present Future Perfect
I, you, they, we, he, she, it will/shall + have + verb III + object/adverb

used to express an action that will be completed before another time in the future, for usually use : by next month, by next year, by the end of this month.
Active : The students will have completed the exam before closing time

Passive : The exam will have been completed before closing time
Present Future Perfect Continuos
I, you, they, we, he, she, it will/shall + have + been + verb I + object/adverb

emphasize the duration of an action that will be in progress before another time or event in the future .
Active : She will have been watching TV

Passive : The TV will have been being watched by her
Simple Past Future
I, you, they, we, he, she, it should/would + verb I + object/adjective

used to expressed an action that will happen in the future or have been done in the past but that action is not going to happen because of something.
Active : Herlina would take bag

Passive : Bag would be taken by Herlina
Past Future Continous
I, you, they, we, he, she, it should/would + be + verb-ing + object/adverb

used as form of past of Present Future Continous Tense. That expressed an action that will be in progress in particular time in the future.
Active : I would be writing the novel

Passive : The novel would be being written by me
Past Future Perfect
I, you, they, we, he, she, it should/would + have + verb 3 + object/adverb

used to expressed an action that will completely done in particular time in the past.
Active : She would have asked me to stay in her house if she had known that I was here

Passive : I would have been asked by her to stay in her house if she had known that I was here
Past Future Perfect Continous
I, you, they, we, he, she, it should/would + have + been + verb-ing +  object/adverb

used to expressed an action that will be in progress in particular time in the past.
Active : He would have been writing a short story for 3 hours

Passive : A short story would have been being written by him for 3 hours
